Jie’s passion for real estate started at the tender age of five: while her friends were playing with dolls, she was designing and building doll houses. Real estate is not just brick and mortar to her, it is a symbol of home, happiness, prosperity, and security. After finishing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, she earned her MBA at Memorial University of Newfoundland (Canada). She was also inducted as a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma – the highest recognition for business graduates and an international symbol of “Best in Business.”
Prior to launching her real estate business, Jie served as the first Institutional Analyst at Marine Institute. For ten years, she ran a one-person office responsible for all the institutional analysis projects. Her strong analytical background, her ability to handle large-scale confidential data and make strategic recommendations, combined with her astute sense of value and avid negotiation skills gave her a jump start in the real estate world.
Jie understands well that buying or selling a personal home is as much an emotional journey as a financial decision, and is often associated with a major life transition. Our dreams, hopes and fears, family dynamic, past experience, and future outlook all play a part in this complex decision making. She loves working with people, and finds it extremely rewarding helping and guiding her clients through this challenging transition while they make their biggest purchase or sale in life.
Jie lives with her husband and their cat in the Westnedge Hill neighborhood of Kalamazoo, where they keep a productive vegetable garden. Her childhood passion still prevails, she presently owns several homes and an extensive collection of Christmas villages. In addition to her busy career, Jie is actively pursuing the CPA designation. Her goal is to bring more value to her real estate clients through strategic investment, financial, and tax planning.
